Right on the Weser, only about ten minutes on foot from Kulturkirche St. Stephani, the Motel One Bremen-Altstadt sits at Am Brill. The design hotel is an ideal base for a tango weekend in Bremen — with the old town, the “Schlachte” riverside promenade and the planned milongas almost on the doorstep.

In the Faulenquartier, about five minutes’ walk from Kulturkirche St. Stephani, the B&B Hotel Bremen-Altstadt sits on Faulenstraße — the closest of our recommendations. 118 rooms with air conditioning and Wi-Fi, a 24-hour reception, a breakfast buffet for an extra charge and its own underground car park; after a long tango night it is only a few steps back.
Right by the Weser and on the Weser cycle route, about eight minutes’ walk from the Kulturkirche, you will find the Jugendherberge Bremen on Kalkstraße — a German youth hostel and the most affordable option within walking distance. German youth hostels are open to guests of every age; alongside dormitories, this one offers single and twin rooms as well as wheelchair-accessible rooms with en-suite bathrooms. An overnight stay requires membership of a youth hostel association: guests from abroad show the card of their national association or buy an international guest card on arrival.
Directly at the main station, about 20 minutes’ walk from the Kulturkirche or a short tram or bus ride away, the Flemings Hotel Bremen offers 152 rooms. For anyone arriving by train it is the most convenient address — only a few steps from the platform to the room, and a quarter of an hour on foot into the old town.
